About The Job We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our cross-functional team. This is a key individual contributor role for someone passionate about building high-quality, scalable software and taking ownership of features from concept to production. You will work on a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects, contributing to both backend services and modern frontend applications in a 20/80 backend-to-frontend split. About The Role In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a PHP-based backend and RESTful APIs , while primarily focusing on building and enhancing modern React single-page applications . You will contribute to component and feature design, write comprehensive tests, and occasionally support the setup of CI/CD pipelines for new services. This role is ideal for a highly autonomous engineer who enjoys collaboration, technical ownership, and continuous learning. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP backend services and APIs Develop complex, user-facing features and UIs using React Optimize React applications by improving performance, reducing unnecessary re-renders, and applying best practices such as memoization, code-splitting, and virtualization Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system stability Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile environment Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, including occasional CI/CD pipeline setup Identify system bottlenecks and bugs, and implement effective solutions Support the migration of legacy frontend applications to modern React/Node stacks with minimal user disruption. About You 8+ years of professional software development experience (14+ years preferred) Strong backend expertise in PHP, including experience outside monolithic frameworks Advanced proficiency in React and its ecosystem Hands-on experience with state management in React (preferably React Context and Zustand) Proven experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs Experience optimizing React performance using profiling, memoization, stable dependencies, and code-splitting strategies Experience migrating legacy frontend applications to modern stacks Strong experience with Oracle Databases, including ORM usage and query optimization Required experience with Docker for containerization Strong commitment to automated testing and experience with unit and integration tests About Monks Monks is the global, purely digital, unitary operating brand of S4Capital plc.
