Responsibilities:

Position Purpose: The role encompasses mission critical support for our trading systems including (but not limited to) application testing, automation, configuration, system monitoring, and support of production trading desks. The system environment at StoneX Retail consists of proprietary and 3rd party software applications, covers the entire stack of software needed to trade, and consists of broad and varied technologies. Primary Duties will Include:
  1. Provide Level 2 support of our trading systems.
  2. Escalate issues to other teams as appropriate by providing detailed log analysis, replicating issues in production or test environments that bring the development team up to speed quickly on the problem without the need for them to conduct a level one / level two analysis themselves.
  3. Document outages along with taking active role in Incident and Problem Management and interact with development teams to drive permanent resolutions.
  4. Constantly liaise with the Traders on the trade desk to allow full immersion in the trading workflows.
  5. Create/enhance tools to make operational workflows more automated and less error-prone.
  6. Add to the monitoring infrastructure to allow more proactive detection of problems and issues.
  7. Identify risks and provide guidance around timing of changes and releases.
  8. Investigation of user queries via log file and process interaction, e.g. order issues, flow breaks, booking issues and Pricing.
  9. Interrogate SQL Server databases for investigations using simple and complex SQL queries.
  10. Working Closely with IT Release Management, QA, Dev and Infrastructure teams for software and scripts roll outs in using best practices from IT Service Management/ITIL.
  11. Constant interaction with front, middle and back office Teams.
  12. Provide Out of Office hours Support and work in a shift Rota including Weekends.
  13. Interaction with Offshore teams and be able to communicate issues effectively and with clarity.
Qualifications:

To land this role you will need:

  1. Ideally Graduate Level. (Not a must though)
  2. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an application support role.
  3. Proficiency in either PowerShell/Python and have used them previously to automate tasks.
  4. Good knowledge of SQL and Databases ideally having worked with SQL Server.
  5. Must be a Team Player and ability to work under pressure.
  6. Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills across a wide variety of technologies and disciplines.
  7. Previous experience in supporting multi-tiered applications.
  8. Exposure to Distributed systems.
  9. Fluent English (written and spoken).
  10. Passion for technology, willingness to learn and self-improve.
  11. Ability to prioritise and work independently and places high value on improving process and procedures.
  12. Exposure to programming languages will be a plus.
  13. Be part of On Call support Rota including weekends.
What makes you stand out:
  1. Knowledge of Linux command shell navigation.
  2. Experience working on a trading floor.
  3. Experience within the financial sector ideally in a Trading Environment.
  4. Experience with FIX/Exchange protocols a plus.
  5. Working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  6. Connectivity and order routing in an equity trading environment.
  7. Visual Studio and TFS.
  8. Exposure to Jira and confluence.
  9. Understanding of messaging systems e.g. TIBCO, JMS, Messaging Queues.
  10. Experience working with open source tools like Elastic Search, Grafana, Time Series Databases.
  11. Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps concepts and practices.
Education:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Working environment:
  1. Hybrid (3 days in office per week).
