Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer Associate to join our Innovation team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the overall success of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Build software following given requirements, working closely with the development team.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and other Subject Matter Experts to interpret requirements and translate them to software solutions for multiple projects.
  • Design and develop intuitive user interfaces that make it easy for users to navigate applications.
  • Support the team in designing and developing proof of concepts to demonstrate value.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
  • Contribute to a high-performance environment and an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working with React and Python.
  • 2+ years of experience working with fluency on Linux environment with command line and shell scripting.
  • 2+ years of experience working with SQL.
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB.
  • Broad and deep technical knowledge, ranging from front-end UIs through to back-end systems.
  • Working knowledge of version control software such as Git.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed, working effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in development.
