Overview

Quorum Software is seeking motivated and passionate individuals to fill the role of QA Automation Engineer II.

In this position, the QA Automation Engineer II will leverage technical skills and analytical reasoning to design, document, execute, and report on the quality assessment of the Company's software solutions. A foundational grasp of testing principles and the ability to create tests that thoroughly assess all critical application functionalities is essential.

This role demands excellent communication abilities and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a dynamic agile setting. Various elements of testing methodologies, automation practices, and the Quorum product suite will be introduced under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the effort needed to accomplish tasks based on the design specifications.
  • Develop work breakdown structures detailing the necessary steps to complete each assigned task.
  • Create and maintain documentation, flowcharts, test data, and diagrams to illustrate the intended functionality of tests, data flow, logic applied, and any significant considerations.
  • Engage in a scrum team and participate in specification workshops to ensure all user stories include the necessary acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with a scrum team to establish test plans, test cases, and test procedures to validate requirements against developed software.
  • Set up test environments and prepare test data.
  • Conduct component, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
  • Log and report failures and bugs to appropriate team members; assist in prioritizing, investigating, and resolving issues.
  • Review existing testing procedures and cases for completeness when modules or products are updated, and when defects are identified.
  • Reproduce user actions or test steps to aid in defect identification.
  • Comply with all established coding, scripting, documentation, and project protocols, as well as corporate policies.
  • Foster a culture of cross-functional teamwork within the Agile project lifecycle.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as deemed relevant based on experience to meet company and/or customer needs.
  • Execute exploratory testing when appropriate at critical points in the release cycle.
  • Design, implement, and conduct advanced system tests.
  • Continuously enhance personal skill sets by exploring relevant tools and techniques, engaging in professional organizations, and reviewing industry publications.
  • Propose enhancement ideas and other subsequent steps to improve the software.
  • Participate in work planning sessions and software demonstrations.
  • And perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, human factors, or business administration.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing for Windows applications or software lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, test planning, and defect tracking.
  • Strong innovative and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of testing throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Eager to learn new techniques and technologies and able to adapt quickly.
  • Enjoys collaborating with team members of varying experience levels.
  • Experienced in black box testing and working closely with developers and business analysts.
  • Supports the Agile methodology while recognizing that each organization tailors it to fit their environment.
  • Capable of working under general direction on complex projects, issues, and challenges.
  • Familiar with Jenkins, VersionOne, Git, Oracle, and MSSQL.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Details

  • Background Check: The successful candidate will need to complete various clearances, including Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver's License Verification, and Passport/ID validation.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Colombia is required, as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate must ensure they maintain and renew any visas or permits that grant employment eligibility where applicable.
  • Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate will be required to present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
  • Onboarding Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an onboarding medical examination prior to the commencement of employment, in accordance with Colombian legislation.
