Quorum Software is seeking motivated and skilled individuals to fill the role of QA Automation Engineer II. This position involves utilizing technical expertise and analytical skills to design, document, execute, and report on quality assessments of the company's software solutions.
As a QA Automation Engineer II, you will be expected to have a foundational understanding of testing principles and the ability to create tests that thoroughly evaluate all critical application functionalities. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential in our dynamic agile environment, where you will receive guidance on various aspects of testing methodologies, automation techniques, and the Quorum product suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the workload necessary to complete tasks based on design specifications.
- Develop work breakdown structures detailing the steps needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Create and maintain documentation, flowcharts, test data, and diagrams to illustrate the intended functionality of tests, data flow, logic applied, and any significant considerations.
- Engage in scrum team activities and participate in specification workshops to ensure all user stories include the necessary acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate within a scrum team to establish test plans, test cases, and test procedures that validate requirements against developed software.
- Set up test environments and prepare test data.
- Conduct component, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
- Document and communicate failures and bugs to relevant team members; assist in prioritizing, investigating, and resolving issues.
- Review existing testing procedures and cases for completeness when modules or products are updated, and when defects are identified.
- Replicate user actions or testing steps to aid in defect identification.
- Comply with all established coding, scripting, documentation, and project protocols, as well as corporate policies.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere within the Agile project lifecycle.
- Undertake additional duties as required based on experience to meet company and customer needs.
- Perform exploratory testing at critical points in the release cycle.
- Design, implement, and execute advanced system tests.
- Continuously enhance personal skills by exploring relevant tools and techniques, engaging in professional organizations, and reviewing industry publications.
- Propose improvement ideas and next steps to enhance software quality.
- Participate in work planning sessions and software demonstrations.
- Execute other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, human factors, or business administration.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in software testing for Windows applications or software lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, test planning, and defect tracking.
- Strong innovative and analytical capabilities.
- Solid understanding of testing processes throughout the software lifecycle.
- Enthusiastic about learning new techniques and technologies, with the ability to adapt quickly.
- Enjoys collaborating with team members across various experience levels.
- Experienced in black box testing and working closely with developers and business analysts.
- Supports Agile methodologies while recognizing that each organization tailors it to fit their environment.
- Capable of working independently under general direction on complex projects and issues.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, VersionOne, Git, Oracle, and MSSQL.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
Additional Information
- Background Check: The successful candidate will need to complete various clearances, including Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver's License Verification, and Passport/ID validation.
- Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Colombia is required, as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate must ensure they maintain and renew any visas or permits that grant employment eligibility where applicable.
- Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate must present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
- Onboarding Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an onboarding medical examination prior to the start of employment, in accordance with Colombian legislation.
