Overview

Quorum Software is seeking motivated and skilled individuals to fill the role of QA Automation Engineer II. This position is designed for those who are passionate about ensuring the quality of software products through automation.

As a QA Automation Engineer II, you will leverage your technical skills and analytical mindset to design, document, execute, and report on quality assurance testing for our software solutions. A solid grasp of testing principles and the ability to create tests that thoroughly evaluate key application functionalities is essential.

This role demands excellent communication abilities and a collaborative spirit, as you will be working within a dynamic agile team environment. You will receive guidance on various aspects of testing methodologies, automation practices, and the Quorum product suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the workload required to complete tasks based on design specifications.
  • Develop work breakdown structures that outline the necessary steps for each assigned task.
  • Create and maintain documentation, flowcharts, test data, and diagrams to illustrate the intended functionality of tests, data flow, logic, and significant considerations.
  • Engage in scrum team activities and participate in specification workshops to ensure all user stories meet the necessary acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with scrum team members to establish test plans, test cases, and procedures that validate requirements against developed software.
  • Set up test environments and prepare test data.
  • Conduct component, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
  • Document and communicate failures and bugs to relevant team members; assist in prioritizing, investigating, and resolving issues.
  • Review existing test procedures and cases for completeness when modules or products are updated, and when defects are identified.
  • Reproduce user actions or tests to help pinpoint defects.
  • Follow established coding, scripting, documentation, and project protocols, along with corporate policies.
  • Foster a culture of cross-functional teamwork throughout the Agile project lifecycle.
  • Undertake additional duties as necessary based on experience to meet company and customer needs.
  • Conduct exploratory testing at critical points in the release cycle when appropriate.
  • Design, implement, and execute advanced system tests.
  • Continuously enhance personal skills by exploring relevant tools and techniques, engaging in professional organizations, and reviewing industry publications.
  • Propose enhancement ideas and subsequent steps to improve software quality.
  • Participate in work planning sessions and software demonstrations.
  • Fulfill other assigned responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, human factors, or business administration.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing for Windows applications or software lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, test planning, and defect tracking.
  • Strong innovative and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of testing throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new techniques and technologies, with the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Enjoyment in collaborating with team members of varying experience levels.
  • Proficiency in black box testing and close collaboration with developers and business analysts.
  • Support for Agile methodologies while recognizing that each organization adapts it to suit their environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction on complex projects and issues.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, VersionOne, Git, Oracle, and MSSQL.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Information

  • Background Check: The selected candidate will need to successfully complete several clearances, including Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver's License Verification, and Passport/ID validation.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Colombia is required, as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate must ensure they maintain and renew any necessary visas or permits for employment eligibility.
  • Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate will be required to present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
  • Onboarding Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an onboarding medical examination prior to the start of employment, in accordance with Colombian legislation.
