We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Asurion. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of company payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in employee payroll support and daily data entry payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll inputs for employees are captured and aggregated for processing pay.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits and analyze time and attendance reports and balances.
- Process AFC payment checks on local banks and upload import files received from HR, Compensation, and external vendors.
- Respond to payroll questions from employees via a ticketing system in a timely manner.
- Research employee questions and provide proper direction.
- Participate in problem-solving meetings with our payroll vendor and with HR business partners.
- Provide direction to the HR team regarding payroll best practices.
- Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance degree.
- 1+ years' experience in Payroll Processing/administration/accounting.
- 1+ years' experience supporting payroll/HR related systems.
- Knowledge of Colombia payroll legislation, including Vacation, OT, & Sick Pay rules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to document detailed information and analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports, and/or technical documents clearly and concisely.
- Primary communication in Spanish, English desirable.
- Intermediate Excel/Outlook proficiency.
- Strong initiative, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Team player who is willing to step in and assist others if needed.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge on Payroll best practices.
- Competitive and incentive-based pay.
