Job Summary

At Scotiabank, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our Project Delivery and Support team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of various technology and business projects across the bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support management in scheduling, planning, invoicing, and forecasting financials for all assigned projects.
  • Manage and review accruals and actuals to ensure timely entry into the appropriate tools prior to monthly cycles.
  • Support the forecast process within the bank's targets and drive to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Create and manage project delivery artifacts for various management reviews and meetings.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to project managers and leadership teams as required.
  • Drive best practices to increase efficiencies, drive innovation, and create value for the business.
  • Provide consulting on project initiatives, including business case preparation and developing creative/alternative approaches to problem resolution.
  • Develop a strong partnership with the business sponsor to gain an understanding of requirements and sustain open dialogue to manage the product backlog and benefits.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure business needs and outcomes of the project are achieved.
  • Participate in establishing project scope to ensure focus on delivery.
  • Support resource requirement identification and expectation management.
  • Create project plans and manage dependencies in accordance with project team needs.
Reporting Relationships

The successful candidate will report to the Director, Project Coordination.

This role does not have direct reports.

Shared reports will be managed accordingly.

Dimensions
  • This role supports all Resource Managers within the Project Delivery and Support team.
  • Financial Dimensions: Project and portfolio budget.
  • Systems: SmartStream, CA PPM (Clarity), Fieldglass (Coworks).
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of project coordination/management experience.
  • Strong financial management experience with program/project budgets.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation), relationship building, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and enjoys creating presentations for executive management.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques (e.g., CA PPM, MS Projects, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
  • Nice to have: PMP.
