We're revitalizing a collection of landmark buildings in Cartagena, Colombia's historic city, blending timeless style with legendary service. The Role

We're seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to assist the Director of Finance in administering all financial aspects of hotel operations, ensuring compliance with local and corporate policies. This includes supervising the Accounting office's day-to-day operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand the Accounting & Finance Manual and possess a working knowledge of it.
  • Prepare financial statements, accruals, and journal entries as part of the Month-End Process, maintaining reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in established formats and according to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Monitor and control expenses, paying attention to daily reporting done by the auditor and addressing issues affecting the guest experience.
  • Ensure House Funds and Floats Counts are up to date, minimizing exposure that could impact profitability.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in Forecasting/Budgeting.
  • Plan, organize, lead, and control projects and activities within the finance team.
  • Identify coaching moments and turn them into opportunities for learning and development within the Finance team.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll require:

  • A university degree in accounting or finance.
  • Three to five years of experience in a related position, preferably with Four Seasons or a similar organization.
  • A working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Four Seasons' Internal Controls, Policies, and Procedures, and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing, and Food & Beverage control.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, and familiarity with Sun, iScala, and Opera Systems would be ideal.
  • Strategic, analytical, and business acumen.
