Regional Business Development Lead For Latin America And The Caribbean

IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the IDB Group, seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to join as Managing Director for the Andean Group. This position requires a seasoned banker with significant regional expertise, a proven track record of successful business development, deep knowledge of the countries, and strong relationships with relevant private sector companies operating in the region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with governments and participate in business development with private sector clients and entities.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the Country Representatives, supporting their strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities.
- Oversight and responsibility for business performance from a regional perspective with the Delivery Units (organized teams by industries and regions responsible for originating, structuring, and supervising transactions).
- Together with the corresponding Country Representatives, shape country strategies from a private sector perspective.
- Define countries' priorities and strategies and establish upstream work.
- Identify, promote, and execute synergies with IDB and IDB Lab.
- Manage operational, human, capital, and budgetary resources at the unit level.
- C coordiate with IDB (VPS) and IDB Lab counterparts to promote synergies.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant experience as a banker with a proven business track record.
- Proven regional expertise and strong relationships with the market and clients in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or another relevant field.
- Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
