We are seeking a highly skilled Senior National Coordinator to join our team at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Astana, Kazakhstan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating operational and technical activities in the country, providing support to national counterparts in assigned technical areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of development work in international organizations and excellent command of English and Kazakh languages. A first-level university degree in economics, social or humanitarian sciences is required, with at least one year of professional experience at a country level in national development. Experience of working in development projects would be an advantage.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $34,482 United States dollars yearly. The position offers a wide range of benefits, including opportunities for career growth and development, a supportive work environment, and a chance to contribute to the ILO's mission of promoting social justice and improving working conditions worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary point of operational and administrative contact for tripartite constituents in the country
  • Maintain liaison and cooperation with UNDP and other UN agencies, as well as with local donor representatives and international partners present in the country
  • Collect and analyse country-specific development plans and priorities, socioeconomic data, reports and other relevant information as required by the DWT/CO
  • Identify potential technical cooperation project areas
  • Participate in the preparation of seminars, workshops, training sessions and meetings held in the country
Requirements:
  • First-level university degree in economics, social or humanitarian sciences
  • At least one year of professional experience at a country level in national development
  • Excellent command of English and Kazakh languages
  • Working knowledge of Russian would be an advantage
