Position Overview

The primary goal of the Web Application Security Program is to deliver comprehensive monitoring and reporting services for vulnerabilities identified in Scotiabank's web applications. This includes the identification and tracking of potential attack vectors that may jeopardize the Bank's digital assets against cyber threats. We achieve this through regular automated assessments to evaluate the status of existing vulnerabilities, followed by prioritization for reporting and remediation across various business units.

In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate effectively as a team member with strong analytical and interpersonal abilities.
  • Efficiently manage and prioritize your time to ensure timely delivery of assigned projects.
  • Organize training sessions for internal teams.
  • Compile and present weekly vulnerability reports to other business units.
  • Exhibit proficiency in data interpretation for management insights.
  • Adapt swiftly and decisively to evolving priorities.
  • Show eagerness to expand your knowledge in the role and work alongside external teams.
  • Maintain a positive, motivated, and organized approach to achieving objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all processes and procedures.
  • Generate and deliver ad-hoc reports within strict timelines.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders and other business units regarding ticket tracking progress.
  • Present team achievements effectively.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient SQL programming skills.
  • Strong experience with Excel.
  • Familiarity with Python and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with Visual Studio is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, essential for direct interaction with other teams and business units.
  • Experience in a Cybersecurity capacity is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the current threat landscape.
  • Knowledge of web protocols and associated vulnerabilities is beneficial.
  • Experience using BurpSuite.
