Position Overview

The primary aim of the Web Application Security Program is to deliver comprehensive monitoring and reporting services concerning vulnerabilities identified in Scotiabank's web applications. Additionally, it involves the identification and surveillance of potential attack vectors that could jeopardize the Bank's digital assets against cyber threats. This is accomplished through the execution of regular automated scans to assess the current status of vulnerabilities, followed by the prioritization of these vulnerabilities for reporting and remediation across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively as a team member, demonstrating strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Efficiently manage and prioritize your time to ensure timely delivery of agreed-upon projects.
  • Organize training sessions for internal teams.
  • Compile and present weekly vulnerability reports to other business units.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of data to communicate insights to management.
  • Adapt swiftly and decisively to evolving priorities.
  • Show eagerness to learn and collaborate with external teams.
  • Maintain a positive, highly motivated, and organized approach to achieving results.
  • Assist in keeping an inventory of all processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver ad-hoc reports within stringent deadlines.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders and other business units regarding the progress of ticket tracking.
  • Present team achievements effectively.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient SQL programming skills.
  • Strong experience with Excel.
  • Familiarity with Python and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with Visual Studio is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with interpersonal skills necessary for direct interaction with other teams and business units.
  • Experience in a Cybersecurity role is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the threat landscape.
  • Knowledge of web protocols and associated vulnerabilities is beneficial.
  • Experience utilizing BurpSuite.
