Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Solutions Specialist to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our Global HR Technology team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to ensure the smooth operation of our global HR systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd level technical support to our Global HR Technology applications, including investigating problem logs and collaborating with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operational manuals and technical guides.
  • Work with users, technical groups, and vendors to develop requirements and design technical solutions.
  • Manage code promotions on all servers within your jurisdiction, ensuring accuracy and high-quality execution.
  • Collaborate with banking operations, security control, and external vendors to coordinate change requests and emergency changes.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations, ensuring compliance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of administrating and optimizing databases, web applications, servers, and desktop tools.
  • Thorough understanding of desktop and server operating systems (Windows/Linux).
  • Programming skills to develop installation scripts for software solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot problems across different environments, systems, and networks.
  • Advanced working knowledge in 6 or more of the following technical tools/environments: Microsoft SQL Server, scripting basics, MS SQL Server Administration, IIS Configuration, encryption algorithms, Azure basics, Red Hat Linux, and Autosys scheduling.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, including ServiceNow.
