Objective

The Infrastructure Support Analyst plays a vital role in the success of the Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC) as part of a dedicated 24x7 shift team. This position ensures that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are effectively executed to align with the team's strategic objectives. All activities must adhere to relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and utilize broader organizational resources, systems, and knowledge. Participate in a 24x7 network operations environment, which involves 12-hour rotational shifts during weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays, monitoring, triaging, and escalating network alerts and events. Conduct regular health checks and provide incident reporting and communications. Engage in bridge and troubleshooting calls as necessary. Collaborate with the help desk to resolve user-related network issues and initiate tickets with carriers and vendors for network incidents. Respond to the 24/7 hotline and manage team emails effectively. Implement network modifications as outlined in the Method of Procedure (MOP) and execute Firewall Port Requests (FPRs). Consider the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decision-making processes. Strive for efficient operations within assigned areas, adhering to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring compliance with operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations. Promote a high-performance culture and contribute to an inclusive workplace environment.

Scope of Work

Participate in shift teams within Global Network Operations, which operate on a rotational basis. Shifts are 12 hours long and may occur during the day or evening, including Bank weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays. Provide service to over 3,000 branches and corporate offices worldwide. Maintain service for more than 20,000 network devices across Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Manage multiple concurrent tasks and perform well under pressure.

Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information

Post-secondary education in a technology-related discipline. Demonstrated technical expertise or experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Required Cisco Certifications: CCNP and CCNA. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address challenges in a dynamic environment. Technical understanding of TCP/IP, including routing, switching, and security. Familiarity with the following technical areas: 1) BGP/OSPF protocols; 2) LAN/WAN technologies; 3) Cisco WiFi; 4) Fortinet Firewalls; 5) F5 Load Balancers; 6) Network Monitoring tools; 7) Aruba/Silver Peak SD-WAN. Strong customer service orientation and a quick learning ability. Firewall Certifications, particularly Fortinet, are advantageous. Load Balancer certifications, especially F5, are a plus. Knowledge or experience in Python scripting is beneficial.
