Overview of the Position

The Financial Operations Lead will collaborate closely with the Area Controller to ensure adherence to all statutory compliance requirements, including statutory accounting, local tax obligations, payroll processing, local audits, and the management of billing documentation. This role is crucial in guaranteeing that invoices are efficiently transmitted to the relevant financial control teams and in preparing foreign exchange applications for the Central Bank's approval.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries for all in-country personnel, coordinating with any outsourced vendors as necessary.
  • In partnership with the Area Controller, oversee any outsourced service providers related to both indirect and direct taxation (Income Tax) and statutory accounts.
  • Support the Fixed Asset teams by liaising with custodians regarding location data and asset tagging.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all invoices to the designated financial control teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all documentation and transactions as mandated by local regulations.
  • Assist the General Ledger team in the categorization of non-compliant invoices.
  • Provide support to the collections team by engaging with customers when requested by the financial control teams.
  • Promptly escalate any inquiries from internal or external stakeholders that cannot be resolved independently to the Area Controller or relevant financial control personnel.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of systems and processes to align with the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other in-country departments to achieve the key objectives of the Finance Operations.
  • Assist the Area Controller in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficiency in both the local language and English (spoken, written, and reading).
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent; experience in a multinational corporation is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience within the local market.
  • Results-oriented mindset.
  • Professional demeanor with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
