Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Regional Finance Manager, you will assist in the financial reporting and analytical processes for our US Operations. Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to refine the evaluation of operational KPIs and work closely with the Financial Reporting team on accounting matters for the US Sub-Regions.

  • Ensure accurate reporting of sub-regional profit and loss statements, ensuring that all revenues and expenses are allocated correctly.
  • Conduct monthly reviews and analyses of Subcontractor Driver Costs to confirm expenses are recorded in the appropriate periods and assigned to the correct stations. Prepare and post necessary journal entries while providing variance and trend analyses for the Monthly Business Review.
  • Assist in payroll analysis for Regional Operations.
  • Support the month-end and quarterly closing processes, focusing on the review of P&L statements and variance analyses for the regions.
  • Contribute to the Monthly Business Review by providing reports and analyses on regional performance, including risk assessments and opportunities.
  • Participate in office KPI reporting and monthly meetings to identify actionable items aimed at enhancing efficiency, resource allocation, and profitability.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Country Managers and Station Managers regarding financial inquiries or issues, facilitating the advancement of finance initiatives.
  • Aid in the creation and submission of capital expenditure requests, coordinating necessary approvals and tracking expenditures for North America.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining financial reporting and analysis for new offices, comparing them to business case financials.
  • Support the budget submission process for US Operations.
  • Ensure adherence to World Courier Finance Policies within regional operations.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial analyses with detailed narratives that clearly communicate the causes and financial impacts of variances and trends in expenses.
  • Provide analytical support to the FP&A team on various projects as required.
  • Assist in the development and fulfillment of monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Generate ad hoc analysis reports as necessary.
  • Perform various other finance and accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

A broad educational background in business administration, accounting, economics, or related fields is required, typically obtained through a four-year bachelor's degree program, technical vocational training, or a combination of experience and education. A minimum of one to two years of progressively responsible experience in a related field is preferred.

  • Proficient mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze profit and loss statements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and various accounting and planning software.
  • Previous experience with SAP is advantageous.
