Job Title: Sr. Data Architect, Data Lake, Professional Services

Are you a data analytics expert with experience in Data Lake/Hadoop and a passion for solving complex data challenges? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Sr. Data Architect, Data Lake, Professional Services.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical data architect to collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. As a Sr. Data Architect, Data Lake, Professional Services, you will develop, deliver, and implement data analytics projects that help our customers unlock business insights from their data.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery: Help customers define and implement data architectures, including Data Lake, Lake House, and Data Mesh. Engagements will focus on short onsite projects that prove the use of AWS Data services to support new distributed computing solutions.
  • Solutions: Deliver onsite technical assessments with partners and customers, participating in presales visits, understanding customer requirements, and creating packaged Data & Analytics service offerings.
  • Innovate: Engage with customers' business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise. Create new artifacts that promote code reuse.
  • Expertise: Collaborate with AWS field sales, presales, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Redshift.
  • Leadership: Lead data architecture and data engineering teams to deliver project implementations successfully.

This is a customer-facing role, and you may be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed, up to 50%.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of technical specialist, design, and architecture experience
  • 5+ years of database experience (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
  • 7+ years of consulting, design, and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience
  • 5+ years of software development with object-oriented language experience
  • 3+ years of cloud-based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network, and operating system experience
  • 7+ years of external or internal customer-facing, complex, and large-scale project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of professional or military experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with Teradata systems
