We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Lhr Américas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or environmental science, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires expertise in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance. As a key member of our Downstream OE & Compliance Division (DSOE&CD), you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure compliance with corporate and local department HSE requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and consultation to department staff on maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conducting surveys and on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards, coordinating the implementation of controls from results of hazard analyses, and measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of the hazard control system.
  • Prepare safety orientations, training, and job site inspection procedures, directing or assisting in the development of specialized education and training materials.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or environmental science from a recognized and approved program.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related safety/operational experience and/or training, preferably in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Knowledge or training in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable industry, governmental, and/or international standards.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety, and environmental fields.
What We Offer
