Senior Revenue Accountant

Role Summary:

This senior-level role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition and managing associated costs related to our contracts. The Senior Revenue Accountant will be pivotal in revenue recognition and reporting within our Finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guaranteeing the precision and promptness in accounting for revenue, deferred revenue, sales commissions, channel partner commissions, cost of goods sold (COGS), accounts receivable, bad debts, accrued expenses, and other accounting areas overseen by the revenue accounting team.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition and related expense accounting.
  • Aiding in the enhancement of financial application utilization, particularly with Microsoft Dynamics 365, to comply with ASC 606 and other GAAP reporting requirements, including quarterly financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies across all product offerings and verifying that these policies are accurately reflected in product setups within financial systems.
  • Leading the monthly closing process to ensure an accurate and timely closure of revenue and expense ledgers.
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries related to revenue, expenses, and balance sheets, along with account reconciliations, adhering to strict closing deadlines.
  • Collaborating on the review of sales contracts to confirm proper revenue recognition and compliance.
  • Supporting third-party auditors to facilitate timely year-end audit and review preparations.
  • Working closely with finance and operations teams to assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasts and planning.
  • Maintaining internal controls that impact all accounting areas managed by the revenue accounting team.
  • Supporting the revenue accounting team in collaboration with IT, operations, and other accounting members to drive improvements in accounting systems and reporting.

Candidate Profile:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong work ethic, excellent communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and other authoritative guidelines.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to engage with employees at various levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or higher.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in public accounting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
