UN-Habitat-Andean Countries HUB is implementing the "Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity" project. UN-Habitat, IOM, and UNHCR as United Nations agencies with mandates relating to human settlements, migration, and refugee protection decide to join forces with the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO) to carry out an inter-agency project, which seeks to reduce the vulnerabilities of Venezuelan migrants and refugees, and address the impact on host communities to design stable and durable solutions with a medium


The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Andean Countries Hub (Bogota), Programme and Administrative internship is for six (6) months.


In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, applicants may be requested to undertake the internship remotely in view of constraints regarding visa issuance, international travel, and access to UN premises.

Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship.

The work hours during the internship shall be determined based on individual discussion between the intern and the supervisor(s) taking into consideration the minimum requirements of the Organization and the time difference between the hosting office and the location of the intern.

The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.


Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.


Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative and Financial Specialist and Coordinator for Andean Countries, the intern will:

TECHNICAL SUPPORT:

  • Support the "Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity" Project team with some assistance activities such as support to meetings, formulation of minutes, specific technical research, development of work materials, preparation of documents and presentations; and other inputs required for
project activities.

  • Support the CICS Project team with some tasks related to monitoring and followup of the action:give assistance to focal points with some actions of the project, planning of agendas, events organization, support to planner tools, and communications.
  • Assist the Coordination of the HUB in identifying project opportunities.
  • Support the elaboration of technical and economic proposals.
  • Support in the development of presentation materials and reports.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:

  • Assist in drafting formal communications.
  • Assist in the preparation of terms of reference for the recruitment of personnel and carry out the administrative process of personnel procurement.
  • Assist in the organization of travel agendas and related requirements.
  • Assist administrative processes related to trips of consultants, payment, contractual processes, and other related administrative tasks.
  • Keep track of correspondences sent and received.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records of the financial situation of personnel contracts, subcontracts, and payments.
  • In addition, he/she must perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor, as necessary.

Education
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
