Overview

 

The Web Application Security Program’s main objective is to provide monitoring and reporting services for vulnerabilities found on Scotiabank web applications. Also, identify and monitor potential attack vectors that expose the Banks digital assets to cyber threats.  This is achieved by running regular automated scans to get a status of the vulnerabilities present and then, prioritizing those vulnerabilities for reporting and remediation to the various business lines. 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Manage and prioritize your time effectively to deliver agreed projects on time.
  • Schedule training sessions with internal team.
  • Prepare weekly vulnerability reports to present to other business lines.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of data to interpret to management.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and decisively to changing priorities.
  • Express a willingness to learn more in the role and collaborate with external teams.
  • Be positive, highly motivated and organized to achieve results.
  • Help maintain inventory of all processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and provide ad-hoc reports within strict deadlines.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to stakeholders and other business lines to provide progress on tracking of tickets.
  • Make presentations of team efforts.

What you will know:

  • Excellent SQL programming skills.
  • Excellent Excel experience.
  • Experience with Python and other related programming languages.
  • Experience with Visual Studio (nice to have)
  • Excellent (oral & written) communication skills and interpersonal skills required for direct interfacing with other teams and business lines.
  • Experience in a Cybersecurity role (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with the threat landscape.
  • Knowledge of web protocols uses vulnerabilities (nice to have).
  • Experience using BurpSuite
