The Business Development Representative Structural Steel DetailingBIM Services is responsible for driving business growth and expanding JITECH's market presence within the structural steel construction industry. This position focuses on client engagement, long-cycle consultative sales, and strategic positioning of structural steel detailing and Building Information Modeling (BIM) services. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders and collaborating with internal technical teams to ensure that client requirements are accurately translated into project proposals and deliverables. This position supports the achievement of organizational revenue goals by representing JITECH's detailing and BIM services as a critical component of successful steel projects.
Key Responsibilities- Business DevelopmentClient Engagement
- Lead business development activities including lead generation, pipeline management, and contract acquisition for structural steel detailing and BIM services.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with steel fabricators, general contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Develop and implement consultative sales strategies to communicate the value, scope, and execution of certainty of JITECH's detailing and BIM solutions.
- Position the company as a reliable and low-risk partner through effective marketing, branding, and ongoing industry engagement.
- Proposal DevelopmentProject Coordination
- Collaborate with technical detailing teams to translate complex project requirements into clear, actionable client proposals.
- Ensure proposals align with client expectations and project goals and facilitate seamless project coordination during pre-award and onboarding phases.
- Promote advanced 3D modeling and BIM workflows, emphasizing JITECH's alignment with AISC standards and industry best practices.
- Industry StandardsContinuous Improvement
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, standards (including AISC 360-22, AWS D1.1:2020, and relevant International Building Code requirements), and emerging technologies in steel detailing and BIM.
- Provide client feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement of service offerings and project delivery processes.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in B2B sales, business development, or client engagement within the structural steel, construction, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection workflows, and technical detailing processes.
- Working knowledge of Specifications for Structural Steel Buildings ANSI/AISC 360-22, Structural Welding Code Steel AWS D1.1:2020, and International Building Code requirements related to structural steel buildings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Planner, and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with Tekla Structures or SDS2 detailing software is considered an asset.
- Excellent English writing and communication abilities, with persuasive presentation skills suitable for long-cycle consultative sales.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, ensure project clarity, and deliver proposals that convert to business decisions.
