Amadeus Airport Cloud Use Service (ACUS) is a next-gen Microsoft Azure based Common Use platform. Through application virtualisation technology, Amadeus has moved Airline Departure Control Systems (DCS) and other applications from the airport core room into the cloud, enabling on-demand access to passenger processing systems; anywhere, anytime. As part of the ACUS team you will be instrumental in designing applications and middleware that will shape the travel experience of our customers and be a vital contributor in the evolution of ACUS.

Summary of the role:

The Service Reliability Engineer is an expert in Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Clustering, MSSQL and automation and supports the engineering team of Airport Cloud Use Services. This team is managing several Citrix platforms in different regions around the world composing the central infrastructure of ACUS. All our environments are running on Azure. The Service Reliability Engineer provides centralized 3rd level support and works in close collaboration with several other groups involved in the customers' implementations, support and maintenance. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies such as Citrix.

In this role you'll:

• Build, maintain and support windows based servers and server farms, Microsoft Clusters, MSSQL Databases, DNS solutions and Active directory based domains according to internal and external customer requirements and relevant operational principles with the focus on operability, stability, high availability, performance, scalability and compliancy.

• Investigate, debug and solve Citrix, windows Operating System, clustering or Active Directory incidents

• Install relevant software products as required

• Actively contribute to the improvement of the team's value proposition around stability, agility, cost and security.

• Analyse and update the servers where needed to keep them secure and compliant with any relevant security standards

• Assist more junior members as well as application experts of the team where appropriate

• Automate tasks where appropriate with according scripts and other tools

• Lead small internal and external projects related to Citrix, OS, AD or clustering

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and components into our existing system with focus on operability, stability, high availability, performance, scalability and compliancy.

• Provide documentation and guidance to 1st and 2nd level support

• Provide technological and operational consultancy to other stakeholders

• Contribute to the build, maintenance and support of the Citrix based platforms in cloud according to internal and external customer requirements and relevant operational principles with the focus on operability, stability, high availability, performance, scalability and compliancy.

About the ideal candidate:

• Excellent knowledge of Windows Servers and associated platform(s) and/or tools

• Good knowledge and experience in Active directory forest and multiple domain trusts

• Good knowledge in Microsoft clustering

• Good knowledge in Powershell, GPO maintenance, and Antivirus software

• Experience in DHCP and DNS

• Knowledge of Storage technologies and MSSQL

• Experience on Citrix is a plus

• Excellent debugging and problem analysis skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work in a team

• Strong grasp of automation tools

• Ability to use and adapt a new technologies and tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, IAAS, PAAS, Jenkins, Terraform)

• Knowledge and experience in scripting (e.g. Powershell, python)

• Good understanding of cloud environments

• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders

• Minimum 6 years experience working in a windows based environment with big server farms
