Job Summary
The Director, Clinical Operations leads a team of Clinical Managers that support Enterprise Risk Management and Qualifications Review by coaching and managing the team level performance, in addition to contributing individually, towards strategic initiatives that impact the quality of healthcare professionals, revenue, and profit and risk exposure. This individual is a qualified and licensed healthcare professional who provides support to Local Staffing, Travel Nurse, Allied Health, Revenue Cycle Solutions and Locums division. The Director scope includes:
- Clinical Risk Management- Locums Case Management- TJC/NCQA Management- HP Crisis Case Management- Caring 4 Caregiver Fund- CES Float Pool Supplemental Staffing Management
Job Responsibilities
- Presents business cases for specific improvements in client processes in order to improve service delivery, generate cost efficiencies, and mitigate risk in alignment with business objectives.- Centralization & Standardization of Enterprise Business Processes- Operational Efficiency- Finance Management- RM Reporting- Policies/Procedures- Certification Survey Outcomes- Reporting and analytics HP Crisis and Caring 4 Caregiver funding- Delivers business presentations or other formal communications to Clients and/or internal business partners.
- Delivers training to Internal Business Partners in order to elevate awareness and implementation of clinical and risk policies and procedures, tailoring content and delivery method to specific situations to mitigate risk. Coordinates with Sales division to manage client and clinician situations in an effective manner.
- Provides direct/primary support to Clients/Providers locums division by performing all duties of a CM.
- Collaborates with Senior Reporting Analyst to prepare and deliver client presentations that support the Quarterly Business Review process emphasizing historical trends in risk, quality and clinical factors and manages projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational strategic initiatives.
- Facilitates CM problem solving on critical escalations by providing insight and guidance above the Policy and Procedure guidelines and performs and interprets internal audits of CM work to recognize and plan for opportunities to improve.
- Provides primary clinical support to all clients, including Associate Vendors, by engaging with facility key contacts to address clinical processes and concerns.
- Responds urgently to customer concerns that jeopardize assignment completion by coordinating with internal sales, operations leaders, and stakeholders to make timely and informed decisions.
- Troubleshoots assignment issues and investigates situations gathering all relevant information with clinicians, clients, and internal departments to resolve the problem in a cooperative and collaborative framework.
- Provides oversight to the performance evaluation process to promote the quality of clinicians and recognizes clinicians for superior performance.
- Conducts regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings with team members to assess work performance, inform, plan, and to motivate and inspire and address and coach performance issues with team members. Facilitates Individual Development Plan (IDP) process with direct reports in order to support personal, professional, and business growth.
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree | Nursing | Mandatory
- Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum Work Experience
- Experience as a RN in an acute care setting.
- Direct supervisory or managerial responsibility.
- Travel Nurse experience or experience working with Travelers.
- Staffing experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Risk Management experience
