Northstar Field Engineer/Tech (NFE)

The Northstar Field Engineer/Tech (NFE) will be based out of Bogota, Colombia and will spend their time in the field and the shop working shoulder to shoulder with Northstar's experienced supervisors doing pre-job planning & test design, downhole tool operation, preparation & maintenance, and job reporting. The Field Engineer/Tech must have the physical and mental stamina to execute this role, make critical decisions under pressure, and work long hours. This position will be hired through EC Energy.
- Equipment Preparation - Function and pressure testing of the equipment prior to use.
- Pre-job Planning and Job Execution - Equipment selection, dispatching to the site, making up and running tools, well test execution as per program, break out and laying down equipment.
- Report and Analysis - Data collection and reporting well test results.
- Equipment Maintenance - Servicing equipment according to Work Instructions and Maintenance documentation requirements.
- Enforce QHSE policies and guidelines, with an emphasis on routine inspections.
- Equipment and Spares Inventory - Ensure accurate inventory for the field location is maintained and appropriate number of spares are on hand.

Job Requirements:

- Engineering Degree or Diploma in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Problem Solving and Strategic Thinking skills
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Teamwork Skills
- Physical ability to routinely lift heavy parts (less than 50lbs)
- Operating company equipment (vehicles, forklift, overhead cranes)
- Safely working on and around drilling rigs, warehouses, heavy equipment
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- Must be Fit for Duty
- Valid driver’s license
- Fluency in English language

Ingeniero/Tecnólogo de Campo (NFE)
- Preparación de las herramientas: Prueba de presión y funcionamiento.
- Planificación previa y ejecución del trabajo: Selección de equipos, envió de herramientas a locación, preparación y funcionamiento de herramientas en campo y ejecución de pruebas de pozos según el programa.
- Informe y análisis: Recopilación de datos y presentación de informes sobre los resultados de las pruebas de pozo.
- Mantenimiento de equipos: Realizar servicio a los equipos de acuerdo con los procedimientos técnicos de la compañía.
- Cumplir con las políticas QHSE de la compañía.
- Inventario de equipos y herramientas: Mantener un inventario preciso de nuestros equipos tanto en campo como en la base, así como una cantidad adecuada de repuestos.

Los requisitos de esta posición son los siguientes:

- Título de ingeniería o tecnología en mecánica o petróleos.
- Habilidad para resolución de problemas con pensamiento crítico-analítico-estratégico.
- Habilidad para trabajar con mínima supervisión.
- Excelentes relaciones interpersonales para el trabajo en equipo.
- Habilidad física para levantamiento de herramientas (menos de 25 kg).
- Licencia de conducir.
- Excelentes habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita tanto en inglés como en español.
