Senior Accounting Lead

Head of People | Turning LATAM’s Hidden Talent Into America’s Competitive Advantage We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Lead who is detail-obsessed, process-driven, and confident owning client delivery from day one. You’ll handle day-to-day accounting delivery and client onboarding, but you’ll also go beyond — acting as the standard-setter who builds systems, enforces quality, and shapes how this service scales. You’ll support the CEO, CPA partners, and future accounting team members, using QuickBooks Online, strong accounting judgment, and clear processes to deliver accurate, audit-ready financials for every client. Key Responsibilities Handle day-to-day bookkeeping with full ownership of QuickBooks Online. Manage bank and credit card reconciliations with precision and timeliness. Track and process all incoming payments (Accounts Receivable) and outgoing payments (Accounts Payable), ensuring timely, accurate financial records and follow‑ups. Process payroll accurately and on schedule, through our payroll service portal. Ensure financial data is consistently organized, up to date, and audit‑ready. Monthly Reporting Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including: Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Accounts Receivable Aging Report. Identify anomalies and flag potential issues or opportunities for leadership. General Finance Support Maintain consistent categorization and coding of transactions. Collaborate with leadership to support forecasting and cash flow visibility. Coordinate with external accountants or tax professionals when needed. Administrative Support Maintain and organize financial documentation across Google Docs, Google Sheets, and excel. Prepare business documents with attention to detail and accuracy. Perform data entry tasks across systems as needed. Provide behind‑the‑scenes administrative support to help scale operations efficiently when required. Client Delivery & Oversight Own onboarding for new accounting clients from kickoff through first close. Review and approve all monthly reconciliations and financial reports. Ensure timely delivery of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet. Serve as the primary point of contact for client‑facing accounting questions. Identify cleanup needs, scope changes, and delivery risks early and elevate appropriately. Quality Control Enforce consistent accounting standards across all clients. Review reconciliations, classifications, and balances prior to delivery. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or anomalies. Ensure books are accurate, current, and audit‑ready at all times. Process & Systems Refine client onboarding and monthly close SOPs. Standardize charts of accounts, accounting rules, and workflows. Implement and maintain best practices in QuickBooks Online. Contribute to documentation as the accounting services line scales. Support training and oversight of junior bookkeepers as hired. Review work completed by junior team members and provide feedback. Coach team members to maintain quality, consistency, and accountability. Nice to Have Experience working with U.S.-based clients. Background in an accounting firm or managed services provider. Exposure to payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Rippling). Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously. Familiarity with AR/AP workflows. About You Have experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Lead Bookkeeper. Are deeply skilled with QuickBooks Online, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Know how to review, correct, and elevate others’ work while maintaining strong client relationships. Can communicate clearly and professionally with clients, leadership, and external partners. Have a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. Are comfortable building structures in an environment that’s still taking shape.
