About the role:

As the Business Director for Meetings & Events, you will be the go-to person for all operational, commercial and financial aspects of the market. Your role involves overseeing employee engagement, client retention, new sales, and financial growth for the business. Leading cross-functional operational teams, identifying areas for efficiency improvement, and ensuring compliance achievement. You'll also be responsible for developing training strategies, managing clients and supplier relationships, and fostering a culture of teamwork.

  • Organizing and managing multiple complex projects efficiently.
  • Thinking innovatively and strategically to solve problems.
  • Building and maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.
  • Working well under pressure and adapting to changing situations.
  • Paying attention to detail and taking ownership and accountability among projects.
  • Participating in industry events to represent our brand in the market.
  • Implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conducting performance reviews. Establish plans with individuals to ensure maximized performance against goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master Degree in the industry is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in meetings/events/program management with P&L responsibility.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing people.
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing vendors and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience in Life Science/Pharmaceutical Accounts is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • First-hand experience in domestic and international group travel.
  • Extensive knowledge of Meetings Industry best practices, trends, and key players in the market.
