We have domain expertise spanning financial services, banking, retail, technology, healthcare, as well as the VC and PE ecosystem, among others.We are on the lookout for a Director of Engineering This is an exciting opportunity to join us in Medellin, Colombia and help us build our community there.The role would place you in a highly - energised environment with some of the most hardworking, creative individuals in the industry where you would be inspired to share your years of experience along with contributing to our projects with the existing teams in Symphony.What would be your responsibilities if you join us?Partner with Symphony clients to craft and deliver digital solutions that unlock new levels of business valueLead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance architectural solutions. Ensure alignment with business requirements and technical standards. Provide expert guidance and coaching to developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Partner with UX/UI Designers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and efficient delivery of solutions. Ensure best practice is applied, and ensure clear communication across teams. Implement best practices for performance optimization, security, and scalability. Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating cutting-edge solutions to enhance our products and development processes. Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices. Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for solution architecture, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. There are some requirements that will make you stand out:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of professional experience in solution architecture, with a significant portion in a senior or lead role Backend, frontend and cloud technologies (tech-agnostic) Ability to scope and estimate project requirements. Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences Strong analytical capabilities for identifying and resolving engineering tradeoffs. Design and architectural patterns Principles of software engineering Good understanding of server and network infrastructure, experience with cloud platform(s) Experience designing and developing distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services Experience with balancing and optimizing large-scale production systems is a plus Relational and non-relational database Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills Problem solving and a consultant mindset, through partnership with client stakeholders and counterparts.
