Engineering Manager

As a Software Engineering Manager in the ECS team, role will be actively engaged in the planning, design, and development of key initiatives within our D2C organization. An ideal candidate will be a hands‑on engineer who has expertise in building full‑stack cloud‑native enterprise applications, and is comfortable splitting their time with 50% going towards developing software, and 50% focused on leading a high‑performing engineering team. Responsibilities in this role include: Guide the development of highly scalable and reliable technical solutions built for quality and performance · Contribute hands‑on in the development of microservices in our AWS cloud‑based architecture, as well as web app development in our micro‑frontend architecture Coach, support, and inspire software engineers on the team, with a strong focus on feedback and growth Promote continuous learning and innovation as a culture Drive hiring, training, career plans, and performance reviews for the engineering team Lead the sizing, design, development, and testing of key programs within D2C engineering Actively participate in all levels of the development process, including code and design reviews, as well as collaboration with business and project management on product roadmaps and quarterly planning Own deliverables through ideation, testing, validation, and production deployment Ensure stable Production operations with focus on uptime, performance, and reliability Provide leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices Diligently observe and maintain standards for regulatory compliance and information security About Experian Experian is a global data and technology company, powering opportunities for people and businesses around the world. Experience and Skills Qualifications Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent amount of expertise 11+ years software development experience, with at least 2 years in a people management role. 2+ years of GraphQL / Apollo experience, with hands on sugraph development Strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and distributed systems architecture. Hands‑on understanding of technologies like Kafka, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, and microservices. Proven track record of shipping high‑impact products in regulated or high‑availability domains such as fintech or e‑commerce. Ability to lead teams working across real‑time data systems, cloud infrastructure, and API ecosystems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style. Professional experience developing full‑stack cloud‑native projects in an Agile/Scrum environment Hands‑on experience engineering solutions within the AWS ecosystem, especially utilizing NodeJS Proven proficiency building web applications in Angular and/or React Track record of successful project delivery in a people management and/or technical lead role Strong communication skills across direct reports, peers, and other business units (such as Analytics, Business, etc) that facilitate collaboration within and across teams Ability to learn quickly, master new business domains, and work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment to make decisions and achieve results amidst constraints Deep understanding of design and engineering practices Demonstrable familiarity with CI/CD processes (including code review, deployment, etc) and tools (such as git, GitHub Actions, Docker) Passion for engineering that drives technical innovation Additional Information Our uniqueness is that we celebrate yours.
