Job Title: Air Freight Forwarder

A highly skilled professional is required to join our team at DHL Global Forwarding in Bogotá, Colombia. As an Air Freight Forwarder, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of air transportation services, ensuring timely delivery and maximum profitability.

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Forwarder to join our team in Bogotá, Colombia. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience in air freight forwarding operations and excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing information on shipment status, tracking, documentation requirements, transit times, and prices.
  • Ensure that correct costs and revenues are captured against customer profiles and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Track and record exceptions and operational irregularities, analyzing and improving processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to customers, responding consistently and confidently to their inquiries and concerns.
  • Enhance the service experience by exercising professionalism and empathy when dealing with individual customer needs and demands.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues across the DHL Network, prioritizing urgency on behalf of the customer.
  • Meet commitments to customers through follow-up communication and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Coordinate with DGF operations for booking, scheduling, and pre-alerts, validating and sharing details with customers.
  • Exception coordination/resolution with DGF operations and simultaneous proactive updates to customers.
  • Accept customer requests for quotations and pass leads to the Quotations team for processing.
  • Record and resolve customer complaints or assign tasks to other functions.
  • Familiarize yourself with freight forwarding terms, especially Incoterms, and local connections to offer the best solution to end customers.
  • Be available to support urgent situations on weekends, attending to critical shipment movements.
  • Maintain GP Control, prepare invoices, debit notes, and necessary back-up documentation, ensuring timely and accurate customer invoicing.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, international business, or related fields.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in air freight forwarding operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Teamwork and autonomy.

Compensation Package:

  • Salary: $3,198,000 Colombian Pesos per annum.
  • Type of Contract: Indefinite - Directly with DHL Colombia.
  • Performance bonus ranging from 7% to 13% of salary ($223,860min-$415,740max).
  • Food Allowance: $95,564.
