About the Role

This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of accounting professionals, ensuring that financial processes are running smoothly, and providing guidance and support to staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the workflow of the accounting team to ensure objectives are met in a timely manner.
  • Support internal and external customers by providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures, and implement changes as needed.
  • Supervise and support critical accounting, finance, reporting, and/or related functions.
  • Provide guidance, training, motivation, and work scheduling for staff members.
  • Support the Manager and/or Director as appropriate.
  • Mentor and develop staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.

Requirements

  • Self-directed, able to achieve objectives with some management input.
  • Able to direct others to reach objectives.
  • Previous experience or advanced degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze data required to recommend business solutions.
  • Ability to identify new sources of business data.
  • Ability to forecast the impact of each solution and implement the best solution.
  • Ability to measure the impact after implementation and adapt the solution as necessary.
  • Ability to react quickly to changing needs, meet SLAs, and manage the workload of staff members accordingly.
  • Ability to ensure processes are well-controlled and to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable to change, high decision quality, professionalism, teamwork, ability to recognize and reward team members, ability to hire, develop, and retain talent, ability to effectively deal with employee relations issues, demonstrates leadership and self-assuredness.
