Overview

J.S. Held is a global consulting firm providing multi-disciplinary services to various industries, including construction, government, healthcare, and more.

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our Legal team in Colombia.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a broad generalist with a strong grasp of legal principles, contract management, and conflict resolution.

The ideal candidate will be able to take on various tasks, demonstrate initiative, and suggest improvements to processes.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the first line of defense in resolving legal and business conflicts within the organization (50% of time).
  2. Draft, review, and administer letters of engagement, corporate contracts, agreements, and related materials.
  3. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with privacy, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Manage document tracking and filing administration.
  5. Maintain regional corporate compliance initiatives, ensuring they keep pace with growth and developments in law, regulations, and company policy in LATAM.
  6. Support special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience in in-house or corporate law at a professional services firm or similar environment.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to and interact with stakeholders of varying levels.
  3. High-level proficiency in English (C1 level) for speaking and writing.
  4. Experience working in a large, global law firm or related professional services company, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, balance legal issues with business risk, and maintain a sense of urgency and confidentiality.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
