About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team as a Manager, Legal Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to leverage their expertise in the travel industry.

This role will involve providing high-level legal guidance and support to our commercial teams across the Americas region. You will work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies that drive business growth while ensuring compliance with international, European, and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute airline distribution strategies in LATAM, working in conjunction with the North America Travel Distribution commercial organization and LEG senior management.
  • Draft and negotiate complex airline distribution contracts, focusing on key LATAM airline customers.
  • Provide timely and strategic legal advice to upstream commercial teams, ensuring seamless support for business development initiatives.
  • Negotiate metasearch network/booking/search agreements and contracts with LATAM airlines and metasearch customers.
Americas – Corporate:
  • Support the Corporate Function in the Region to ensure adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain intercompany agreements reflecting current corporate policies from central.
  • Manage regional formation/dissolution/amalgamation of entities as directed by Madrid.
Americas Travel Sellers & Corporate IT:
  • Collaborate with downstream Amadeus Travel Distribution business on activities such as contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Work together with the Americas Travel Distribution commercial organization and LEG senior management to formulate and implement travel sellers distribution strategies in LATAM.
  • Draft and negotiate direct agreements with Amadeus' largest multinational travel seller customers.
  • Spearhead negotiations with corporate customers, focusing on key strategic customers in LATAM.
MetaConnect Business Support:
  • Support achievement of MetaConnect business objectives vis-à-vis metasearchers and airlines.
  • Analyze expansion opportunities for metaconnect products to other travel sellers, including OTAs.
Americas - with a focus on LATAM– General:
  • Collaborate with the Amadeus Group Corporate Compliance team to strengthen corporate governance within the Americas companies and distribution partners.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage joint-venture, distributor, and other commercial agreements.
  • Structure transactions and analyze relevant regulatory environments, including international sanctions, anti-trust, and data protection.
  • Liaise with external counsel for input and advice on business strategy.
  • Claims handling for allocated areas, including pre-claim, ongoing management, settlement, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Support the digital transformation of sales to service processes with a focus on implementing and maintaining contract lifecycle management tools.
