Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our Payments and Subscription Team. The team's responsibility includes the key functions for our subscription-based streaming platform.
Your Day-to-Day
- You will be self-organized and self-motivated, resilient in the face of obstacles, and work well in a team environment.
- Ownership of the team's goals and work is crucial, along with a commitment to completing tasks efficiently.
- Mindset to identify opportunities for innovation and the initiative to experiment with new tools and processes are essential.
- You will engage with product owners, business stakeholders, project managers, and other architects to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Designing APIs, microservices, and serverless applications with software engineers is also a key aspect of this role.
- Teaching software engineers to help them learn and apply software design and architecture patterns is important.
- Learnt and implement innovative technologies, tools, architectures, or software engineering practices.
- Guarantee project quality in design-time by enforcing development best practices.
- Translate business requirements into viable and scalable applications.
Requirements
- You have experience building and consuming RESTful APIs in a microservices architecture.
- Desirable experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
- Experience designing and developing batch processing for data pipelines is required.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript professional software development experience in an Agile environment using Git is necessary.
- PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF SQL AND/OR NO-SQL DATABASE MODEL DESIGN AND QUERY OPTIMIZATION IS ALSO REQUIRED.
- Strong software engineering practices like unit testing, PR reviews, design documentation, and monitoring are expected.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Proficient in written and spoken English is a must.
Salary Range
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000 per year, based on national averages and industry standards for a senior-level backend developer position in the United States.
