Business Development Analyst for Latin American Markets

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Analyst to join our team in Colombia. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

About the Role
As a Business Development Analyst, you will provide analytical and administrative support to senior members of the Coverage Teams in Colombia. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Building an understanding of the credit process and conducting analysis and research on the performance of borrowers to assess historical performance and future projections;
2. Gathering support documentation to structure deals, liaising with middle and back office for KYC purposes, and assisting in drafting pre consultation memos for the Credit Department;
3. Assisting with credit applications, amendments, deal closings, and funding, as well as other credit events that may impact the borrower;
4. Supporting in the preparation of client materials (presentations, proposals, RFPs, term sheets, etc.);
5. Undertaking research and analytics related to specific sectors, regions, large corporate groups or individual companies, and staying up-to-date with current market conditions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Strong accounting skills with the ability to read and interpret financial statements and perform cash flow analysis proficiently;
2. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information, analyze risk, and identify mitigating factors;
3. Proficiency in Excel (ability to manipulate data, equations, and analysis) and some experience creating financial models;
4. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal policies, processes, grading, and other systems;
5. Fluency in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese;
6. A high degree of attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines;
7. Self-driven and motivated, with the ability to take personal ownership of specific assignments.
