Backend Developer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Backend Web Developer to support our internal applications and client projects managed by our marketing agency. As the sole developer on our internal team, you will play a critical role in collaborating with external vendors and working on diverse projects, including building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure web applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Backend Services: Create robust backend services and APIs to support our internal applications and client projects.
  • Integrate with Third-Party Platforms: Build and manage integrations with Shopify, GoHighLevel, and HubSpot to enhance our services.
  • Database Management: Develop and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
  • Custom Admin Areas: Create and manage custom admin areas within WordPress and other platforms.
  • Web Security: Implement and maintain strong web security practices across all applications.
  • Project Enhancement: Work on enhancing and supporting existing applications, both for internal use and for client projects.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with external development vendors to ensure seamless integration and project delivery.
  • DevOps Tasks: Participate in DevOps tasks, including deployment and management on platforms like Heroku and Digital Ocean.
  • Workflows and Automation: Develop and maintain workflows and automation processes.
Requirements:
  • Backend Development: Strong proficiency in backend development using PHP and MySQL.
  • APIs and Integrations: Experience with APIs, web services, and integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Web Security: Solid understanding of web security principles and best practices.
  • Shopify and WordPress: Experience with Shopify and WordPress development.
  • Admin Areas: Ability to create and manage admin areas within web applications.
  • Deployment and Management: Experience with deployment and management on Heroku, Digital Ocean, Siteground, WPengine, or similar platforms.
  • DevOps: Knowledge of DevOps practices.
  • Frontend Technologies: Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while coordinating with external vendors.
  • Language: Medium English proficiency.
Nice to Have:
  • Modern Frontend Frameworks: Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, etc.).
  • Containerization Technologies: Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Agency Tools: Familiarity with Hubstaff, Workamajig, Zoom, Google Apps, and Slack.
