Job Title: Clinical Communication Specialist

At Somewhere, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Communication Specialist to join our team in Latin America. As a key member of our remote team, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between patients and our Illinois-based medical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Message Management: Receive and accurately document patient messages and inquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Message Prioritization: Prioritize and relay patient messages to appropriate physicians and providers, utilizing your strong understanding of orthopedic outpatient protocols.
  • Protocol Execution: Interpret and follow surgeons' protocols accurately, demonstrating a thorough understanding of post-operative care and potential infections.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks as assigned, showcasing your ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is essential for this role.
  • Clinical Background: At least 2 years of clinical background, preferably with foreign medical school or nursing school experience (US-credentialed program preferred).
  • Orthopedic Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic orthopedic outpatient protocols and ability to execute them accurately.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
  • Medical Terminology: Proficiency in relevant medical terminology and ability to work with Epic Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Thorough understanding of HIPAA compliance and regulations.

Important Note: As this position is based outside of Illinois, the role does not involve providing medical advice. The primary function is to facilitate communication between patients and our Illinois-based medical team.
