About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Operations Instructor to join our team in Colombia. As an Airport Operations Instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating American Airlines mandated initial, recurrent, and operational training programs for airport teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate training programs for airport teams, including initial, recurrent, and operational training.
  • Engage and guide learners during training, including OJT, performance assessment, performance evaluation, and mentoring when necessary.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically to create a welcoming learning atmosphere.
  • Document employee feedback and provide it to line managers.
  • Collaborate with other team members on various projects.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with corporate departments and station personnel.
  • Maintain quality assurance of all training delivered and provide ongoing feedback to learning specialists.
  • Conduct and participate in airport compliance reviews and audits when required.
  • Understand, clarify, and communicate new policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Ensure annual compliance with Dangerous Goods, Health & Safety, and regulatory training.
  • Identify training requirements and deliver additional training for all Airport Operations employees.
Requirements
  • Valid US Visa B1/B2.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
  • Proven airline experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of and proficiency in all aspects of airport customer service.
  • Working knowledge of SABRE skills and proficiency in American Airlines Sabre and/or US Airways QIK Shares system.
  • Working knowledge of PC software applications Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership qualities and above-average administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, and creative in finding solutions to ad-hoc problems.
  • Previous training/teaching experience preferred.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and energetic with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task while retaining a positive approach.
  • Attendance and training record must be exemplary as this is a self-managed position.
  • Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision and in a team.
  • Must be able and willing to travel extensively both domestically and internationally to facilitate courses and provide mentoring/support.
  • Hold a valid passport.
