Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our Onboarding and Delivery Team in the Security Platforms Engineering Department. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the overall success of our operations, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively within a team of security professionals and across the organization in matters of security, logging, and custody of security events and troubleshooting.
  • Respond to incidents; resolve, triage, or escalate as appropriate to meet and exceed SLA metrics.
  • Support and maintain key production systems, ensuring 7/24 availability.
  • Document and keep comprehensive records of log sources, configurations, analysis procedures, troubleshooting, and incident reports.
  • Provide input to management reporting, including executive summaries, condition status reporting, statistics, and action item tracking.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A university degree or college diploma in a computer-related discipline.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Understanding of network protocols and ability to analyze network logs.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate log parsing, analysis, and response activities.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Looker, Anaconda).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Location

This role is based in Bogotá, Colombia, at ScotiaTech, a unit of ScotiaGBS, a group of companies within Scotiabank.
