Position Overview
As a key member of the GPG Distribution and Traction Transformer Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading sustainable and transformative initiatives across various transformer manufacturing facilities. Your focus will be on enhancing safety, quality, and the efficiency of winding processes and associated equipment.
You will engage with liquid-type distribution transformer plants globally, utilizing a diverse range of technologies and machinery. Your responsibilities will include overseeing process enhancement projects, managing new investment initiatives, and facilitating the transfer of production between different sites. Additionally, you will impart your expertise by conducting global training sessions for local process engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the global authority on manufacturing processes for Distribution Transformers - Liquid Type, establishing worldwide production standards and essential equipment specifications for this product category.
- Propel automation and digital transformation efforts (Industry 4.0), and assist in the global implementation of the MES system.
- Cultivate partnerships with international suppliers for critical equipment, collaborating closely with the category manager and supply quality manager.
- Formulate standard equipment specifications linked to process performance and quality-critical characteristics.
- Provide support to manufacturing facilities during urgent equipment and process challenges.
- Offer expert guidance to factories on process enhancement activities, equipment investments, upgrades, and relocations.
- Conduct evaluations of manufacturing facilities and oversee the execution of the global manufacturing framework, ensuring systematic implementation.
- Create and revise documentation such as production standards, quality inspection protocols, and user manuals.
- Enhance asset utilization while minimizing costs, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.
- Devise and implement solutions for significant technological and process-related challenges.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in operations, preferably within the Transformers sector.
- Proficiency in designing and constructing industrial-grade equipment.
- Experience collaborating with equipment suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving, with a genuine passion for development and change.
- International exposure, working across diverse countries and cultures.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, complemented by excellent communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
