Senior Manager, Operational Effectiveness

Scotiabank is seeking a Senior Manager, Operational Effectiveness to contribute to the overall success of Technology Operations by ensuring plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage technology operations programs that meet technology operations goals, with a direct impact on financial performance, operational risk management, and delivery effectiveness within technology.
  2. Document process flows to aid in understanding, control points, pain points, oversight, and where current problems originate, as well as seek out additional opportunities for improvement.
  3. Design operation programs that affect technology operations, perform change management by working with key business, technology, and operational teams.
  4. Manage and continuously improve existing technology programs, keeping senior leaders informed of program statuses.
  5. Design and produce reporting on program-related KPIs, and engage key stakeholders and senior leadership for KPIs analysis to achieve program performance improvement.
  6. Enable a culture that promotes critical thinking, change leadership, and includes sharing best practices at a global scale.
  7. Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits, communicating the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  8. Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches or solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, computer science or related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience in business operations, consulting or related field.
  3. Experience in financial management in a corporate environment.
  4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  5. An agile mindset with a focus on delivering business value associated with operations transformation.
  6. Strong analytical skills, results orientation and data-driven approach in decision making (via KPIs and metrics).
