Position Overview
As a key member of the GPG Distribution and Traction Transformer Operations team, you will play a vital role in fostering sustainable and transformative advancements across various transformer manufacturing facilities. Your focus will be on enhancing safety, quality, and the efficiency of winding processes and associated equipment.
You will collaborate with liquid-type distribution transformer plants globally, engaging with diverse technologies and machinery. Your responsibilities will include coordinating process enhancement initiatives, overseeing new investment projects, and facilitating the transfer of production between different sites. Additionally, you will impart your expertise by conducting global training sessions for local process engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the global authority on manufacturing processes for Distribution Transformers - Liquid Type, establishing global production benchmarks and essential equipment specifications for this product category.
- Propel automation and digital transformation (Industry 4.0), aiding in the worldwide implementation of the MES system.
- Cultivate partnerships with global suppliers for critical equipment, in collaboration with the respective category manager and supply quality manager.
- Formulate standard equipment specifications linked to process performance and essential quality characteristics.
- Assist manufacturing plants in resolving urgent equipment and process challenges.
- Provide expert guidance to our facilities for process enhancement initiatives, equipment investments, upgrades, and relocations.
- Conduct evaluations of manufacturing plants and oversee the application of the global manufacturing framework, ensuring systematic implementation.
- Create and revise documentation such as production standards, quality inspection protocols, and user manuals.
- Optimize asset utilization while minimizing costs, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.
- Develop and propose solutions for significant technological and process-related challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience in operations, preferably within the Transformers sector.
- Proficient in designing and constructing industrial equipment.
- Experience collaborating with equipment suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving, with a genuine enthusiasm for driving change.
- International experience, adept at working across diverse cultures.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with excellent communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
