**Puntilla Distribution LLC Job Description**

We are a dynamic music distribution company seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Business Affairs.

About the Role

This key position oversees all legal and business aspects related to our artists, partners, and catalog. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the music industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in contract management and rights administration.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Contract Management

Manage contract lifecycles, including options, renewals, amendments, and terminations. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including artist recording, licensing, distribution, and partnership agreements.
  • Manage contract cycles to ensure timely renewal and termination.
  • Maintain accurate records of contractual obligations and compliance.
Rights Management

Oversee the administration and exploitation of the company's music catalog, including copyright registration, royalty collection, and licensing.

  • Administer and exploit the company's music catalog to maximize revenue potential.
  • Monitor industry developments to ensure optimal rights management practices.
Business Affairs Administration

Develop and maintain efficient systems for contract management, rights administration, and other business affairs functions.

  • Create and implement effective administrative systems for business affairs functions.
  • Utilize technology to enhance process efficiency and productivity.
Profitability Analysis

Analyze and implement strategies to improve profitability and maintain healthy margins.

  • Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in business affairs or legal roles within the music industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of music industry contracts, copyright law, and licensing practices.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
