About the Role

Arup is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental, Social, and Governance | Sustainable Investment Advisory team in Bogotá, Colombia. As a key member of our team, you will provide environmentally sensitive and sustainable solutions to unique engineering challenges, working closely with our Advisory team in San Francisco, Houston, New York, and the Americas Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select, and apply domestic and international E&S standards, focusing on E&S risks and impacts, pollution prevention, and biodiversity, alongside domestic and international H&S standards.
  • Produce and review reports related to E&S Due Diligence and monitoring processes in Colombia and Latin America.
  • Consult with local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects when vital.
  • Attend meetings with clients to address their needs and discuss environmental issues.
  • Project lead and meet client expectations, handle collaborators, deliver quality outcomes.
  • Conduct and coordinate site visits, while handling partners (client, communities, etc.).
  • Support business development efforts by assisting in responding to RFPs, identifying potential opportunities with client organizations, participating, and speaking at industry conferences, and staying informed about market trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related environmental consulting profession required.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in infrastructure projects (roads, energy, rail, ports, etc.) required.
  • Experience working with multilateral agencies IFC, CAF, IDB, etc. required.
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills with colleagues and clients of all levels in English and Spanish required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing, reviewing, or implementing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Environmental and Social Management Systems.
  • Experience managing environmental and social impacts and risks in line with international standards (IFC, Equator Principles etc) on construction sites or operational assets.
  • Experience developing business, preparing proposals, etc.
  • Line management experience.
  • PMI accreditation.
