About the Role

Arup is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental, Social, and Governance | Sustainable Investment Advisory team in Bogotá, Colombia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing environmentally sensitive and sustainable solutions to unique engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select, and apply domestic and international E&S standards, particularly those related to IFC Performance Standards (PS) 1, 3, and 6, as well as Equator Principles-IV, focusing on E&S risks and impacts, pollution prevention, and biodiversity, alongside domestic and international H&S standards.
  • Produce and review reports related to E&S Due Diligence and monitoring processes in Colombia and Latin America.
  • Consult with local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects when vital.
  • Attend meetings with clients to address their needs and discuss environmental issues.
  • Project lead and meet client expectations, handle collaborators, deliver quality outcomes.
  • Conduct and coordinate site visits, while handling partners (client, communities, etc.).
  • Support business development efforts by assisting in responding to RFPs, identifying potential opportunities with client organizations, participating, and speaking at industry conferences, and staying informed about market trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related environmental consulting profession required.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in infrastructure projects (roads, energy, rail, ports, etc.) required.
  • Experience working with multilateral agencies IFC, CAF, IDB, etc. required.
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills with colleagues and clients of all levels in English and Spanish required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing, reviewing, or implementing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Environmental and Social Management Systems.
  • Experience managing environmental and social impacts and risks in line with international standards (IFC, Equator Principles etc) on construction sites or operational assets.
  • Experience developing business, preparing proposals, etc.
  • Line management experience.
  • PMI accreditation.
