About The Role

The Workshop is seeking a skilled Network Operations Centre Engineer to join our team. As a Network Operations Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the network and infrastructure components within our data centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Proactively monitor the data centre network, servers, storage, and other critical infrastructure components.
  2. Respond promptly to system alerts, alarms, service degradation, and incidents, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  3. Develop processes and procedures, including documentation, to provide Service Excellence.
  4. Document incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in a detailed and timely manner.
  5. Conduct routine maintenance tasks on data centre hardware, including servers, switches, routers, and storage systems.
  6. Perform firmware and software upgrades to ensure systems are running on the latest, secure versions.
  7. Collaborate with other teams for scheduled maintenance activities.
  8. Maintain a good standard of providing information internally when it comes to ongoing issues.
  9. Detect, analyze, and respond to systems and security incidents.
  10. Maintain and suggest improvements to the incident and problem processes.
  11. Act as a focal point for outages until restoration.
  12. Maintain, escalate, and update NOC-related tickets.
  13. Collaborate with other teams, including IT, network, systems, and security, to ensure seamless operation of data centre services.
  14. Deliver on KPIs set internally as well as adhere to SLAs with regards to service delivery to other departments.
  15. Direct contact with Service Providers and third parties.
  16. Use ITIL Best Practice to handle service requests, incidents, and change requests.
  17. Create new and update existing knowledge base articles.
  18. Participate in a 24x7 shift rotation, with availability to work in shifts including nights and weekends.
  19. Provide additional shift cover when required (overtime to be paid).
