Payroll Analyst Job Description

Flowserve Corporation is seeking a skilled Payroll Analyst to join our team. As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for providing expertise in payroll preparation and processing, data audits, and employment tax maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee payroll time logs, time corrections, tax adjustments, and electronic interfaces related to payroll processes.
  2. Ensure accurate payroll closure by performing data collection, reconciliation, and application of payroll policies.
  3. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing friendly customer service and responding in a timely manner.
  4. Document and maintain payroll procedures.
  5. Review and improve payroll processing to simplify, standardize, and build capacity on the team.
  6. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as needed.
  7. Ensure exceptional service and meet service level requirements for payroll.
  8. Address issues and provide resolution when service level requirements are not met.
  9. Ensure compliance with existing controls, including SOX compliance, internal audit, Flowserve policies, and country, state, or city laws.
  10. Review and audit hours, earnings, deductions, manual checks, and special actions prior to each payroll processing.
  11. Provide support to employees by answering questions compliant with payroll laws and union agreements.
  12. Ensure data integrity in payroll systems and systems that impact payroll.
  13. Perform special projects as necessary.
Requirements:
  1. Strong knowledge of payroll processes related to regional payroll.
  2. Good working knowledge of payroll, payroll tax, and HR laws and regulations.
  3. Attention to detail and accuracy in payroll auditing.
  4. Strong ethical standards and ability to work with confidential data.
  5. Familiarity with Kronos time and attendance system.
  6. Background working with ADP and other vendors is a plus.
  7. Relationship building with Region HR, payroll staff, technical team, other HR teams, and business leaders to ensure consistent quality service delivery.
  8. Strong customer service focus and understanding of proper customer relationship practices.
  9. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
  10. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  11. Strong escalation skills with the ability to own, de-escalate, determine root cause, and implement risk avoidance improvements.
  12. Ability to run and create reports.
  13. Comfortable with technology and excellent Excel skills.
  14. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Business Administration, HR management, or equivalent.
