We are seeking an experienced Executive Accounting Director to lead our accounting department at People Working Corp, a dynamic organization that values innovation and excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and a proven track record of managing accounting operations.

About the Role

The Executive Accounting Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with IFRS-GAAP and other regulatory requirements, staying updated on accounting principles and industry trends. They will also develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data, including updating accounting manuals and processes as needed.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of IFRS-GAAP and other accounting principles and standards, as well as demonstrated experience in managing accounting operations.

They will also possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Experience with accounting software such as Oracle, Netsuite, or SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain compliance with IFRS-GAAP and other regulatory requirements, staying updated on accounting principles and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data, including updating accounting manuals and processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, tax, and audit, to ensure the accuracy of financial information and support the organization's financial goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, including training and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Review accounting documents to ensure the accuracy of information and calculations, making or directing corrective entries as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain control over subsidiary accounting records involving various transactions and accounts.
  • Plan, organize, and control accounting process flows to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Gather and report on department processing metrics, determining relevant statistical data for performance measurement.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
