Job Overview


The Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) team at Scotiabank is looking for an experienced Talend Specialist to deliver comprehensive wealth and asset management solutions to our clients. As a key member of our team, you will help scale, enable, and drive development excellence in data integration and ETL functions.



Key Accountabilities



  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions, ensuring seamless data delivery and scalability.
  • Communicates with business stakeholders to obtain data requirements and performs data analysis on provided data.
  • Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of ETL and Cloud, to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Works with cross-team product owners, developers, and test engineers to support QA processes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Supports the business with ongoing product enhancements and feature development for major releases, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver results.
  • Supports the business with overall change management initiatives to ensure proper adoption of the Talend platform and minimize disruption.
  • Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders, and business partners, using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.


Requirements



  • Language fluency in English (B1+) and Spanish is required. 1-2 years of experience using Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing is required. 1 or more years of experience working in a Linux environment is required.
  • Job Scheduling experience (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.) is preferred, with Autosys being a strong advantage. Collaborative experience with technical/business leaders, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and data analysts is essential.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills are required, as well as strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems is a must.
  • Familiarity with Data Integration with Salesforce Orgs and large volume data architecture experience is a plus.


Working Conditions



  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
